Dr. Daynes completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah. He went on to attend medical school at the University of Utah where he received his doctorate in medicine.

Dr. Daynes served his internship at Forest Park Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Following his internship Dr. Daynes completed his residency at St. Louis University.

Dr. Daynes is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Utah Ophthalmology Society.

Dr. Daynes has published research in the Journal of Ophthalmology, and the American Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Daynes served a LDS mission in Chile, as well as several medical missions in India and Guatemala.
